Payment must be made in advance* or upon arrival at IMAX Melbourne Museum. Methods of payment include cash, cheque, credit/debit card or electronic funds transfer.

IMAX Melbourne Museum cannot extend credit and does not accept purchase orders. An invoice will be sent to you (via email or fax) based on the number of students/extra adults quoted in the original booking.

IMAX Melbourne Museum reserves the right to refuse entry if payment is not made in advance or upon arrival.

*In some instances, payment will be required in full and in advance of your visit to the theatre.  In this circumstance, you will be informed at time of booking and refunds for differing student numbers are not applicable.

You will be required to make payment for the number of students in attendance only. In the instance a cheque has been drawn for more students than are in attendance, you will be refunded the difference, in cash, at the box office.

In some instances, large refunds will need to be processed by the Museum Victoria Finance Department which may take up to two weeks.

Please note, unless the group leader informs the Box Office of the exact number of students in attendance, payment for the amount of students on the original invoice will be required.

Upon arrival at the theatre an IMAX staff member will greet you in the foyer.  Your group leader will be required to make payment and confirm student numbers at the Box Office. Whilst whilst this occurs your group will be moved downstairs and/or into the theatre for seating.

To ensure smooth and prompt entry, please arrive at least 15-20 minutes prior to the start of your session, to allow for payment and seating of your group.

If you have placed a Candy Bar order, or if your students wish to make individual purchases at the Candy Bar, please allow additional time beyond the recommended 15-20 minutes to ensure all purchases can be made without disrupting or delaying the seating process.

If your group is running late, please call either our Bookings Office (on 03 9663 0200) or the Box Office (on 03 9663 5454) to inform us you are behind schedule.

From Monday to Friday during school terms, we screen films on the hour between 10am and 3pm (last school session beginning at 2pm).  During these times, school groups of more than 20 students are able to request a film of their choice to be screened.  'First In Best Dressed' applies with regard to film choice so we recommend you book early to secure the date, time and film of your preference.

For those school groups with less than 20 students, you are welcome to attend a session that has been scheduled for a larger school group.

For bookings after 3pm on school days, on weekends or on school/public holidays, limited sessions are available and conditions apply. Please contact our bookings office on 03 9663 0200 for further information regarding attending movies outside of our dedicated schools sessions.
